Good morning to all teachers and my friends, I am Abhishek T Denny of Grade 3. I am going to speak a few words about Teacher’s day.

It is the great previlege for me to speak about this .

In the modern world, we honour a day for each and every thing which has social aspect. Also, we celebrate a day for our father, mother, brother, Sister and professionals like doctor’s Engineers Etc. The world celebrate International Teacher’s day on 5th of October every year. However, we Indians honour the special contribution of our teachers on 5th of September every year.

Dr. S Radhakrishnan was a Scholar, the Diplomat, a great Teacher and the second President of India. When he became the president of India, some of his students asked his permission to celebrate his birthday But, he replied ,” Instead of celebrating my birthday, it would be my proud privilege if September 5th is observed as Teachers' Day”. Thereon, we have been celebrating his birthday as Teacher’s day.

Today, we are celebrating our Teacher’s day and we do all the possible things to surprise our teachers. We decorate our school, purchase gifts for them, prepare speeches, essays and lot many. Is this enough?

No,

Matha Pitha Guru Deivam, which means MOTHER, FATHER, TEACHER AND GOD” is a very popular adage or phrase in Sanskrit language. Like mother and father a Guru or Teacher has equal improtance in our physical and psychological growth. He identify our potential and He helps us to achieve the great height. We should respect them.

Teachers,

You are the source of knowledge and wisdom. We are nothing without you.

On this occasion, on behalf of every students, I would like to extend our gratitude to every teacher for your selfless service and dynamic support.

Happy Teacher’s day.
